How Orbit Electric Automobile is Making Electric Bikes More Affordable in Nigeria

Posted on February 19, 2025February 20, 2025 By Africa Digest News No Comments on How Orbit Electric Automobile is Making Electric Bikes More Affordable in Nigeria
Orbit Electric Automobile Limited is bringing a new wave of electric transportation to Nigeria.
Led by CEO Kenneth Ukpabia, the company is focused on building affordable, strong, and efficient electric motorcycles that suit Nigerian roads and businesses.
Orbit Electric assembles and distributes electric motorcycles, tricycles, and minibuses and plans to set up solar-powered battery swap stations to support its vehicles.
The company’s latest battery technology is designed to improve the performance and reliability of its electric motorcycles.
These motorcycles are becoming an important part of modern logistics and transportation.
With a goal to cut carbon emissions, Orbit Electric wants to change how goods and people move in Nigeria.
The new battery comes with features that make it long-lasting and reliable. It has a 72V 32aH battery that can handle long distances and tough roads.
A full charge lasts up to 80km, helping solve the common problem of range anxiety for electric vehicle users.
One of the biggest benefits of Orbit Electric’s battery technology is its ability to reduce costs.
Electric motorcycles are cheaper to charge compared to fuel-powered ones. Businesses and individuals switching to electric can save money in the long run by avoiding high fuel prices.
Beyond the financial benefits, Orbit Electric is also helping to reduce air pollution.
Traditional motorcycles release harmful gases that affect the environment and people’s health.

Switching to electric vehicles can improve air quality, especially in crowded cities.
The company is not stopping at just making electric motorcycles. It is also working on solar-powered battery swap stations.
These stations will use Nigeria’s sunlight to charge batteries, making electric vehicles easier to use without depending on fuel.
While Orbit Electric focuses on electric motorcycles, its batteries are also being used in other areas.
For example, the Orbit 12V 220Ah Tubular Battery is sold by different companies for use in inverter systems.
These deep-cycle batteries help provide steady power in areas where electricity is unreliable.
Even with all these benefits, electric transportation in Nigeria still has challenges.
The upfront cost of electric vehicles can be high, and there are not enough charging stations.
However, as battery technology improves and more support comes from the government, electric vehicles are becoming easier to afford and use.
To speed up this shift, the government, businesses, and the public need to work together.
Policies like tax reductions on electric vehicle purchases and investments in charging stations can help more people make the switch.
Public awareness campaigns can also educate people on the benefits of electric vehicles.
Orbit Electric’s work in electric transportation is helping Nigeria move towards a cleaner future.
By focusing on clean energy and reducing fuel use, the country can improve air quality, create new jobs, and grow the economy.
As the company continues to grow and improve its technology, it is on track to play a big role in shaping Nigeria’s future of transportation.
